Photography as leisure: Why I take photos

My feelings and motivations are similar to the described case study in such a way that I engaged in it because it made me feel satisfied, thrilled, excited, happy, and fulfilled. There was that feeling, that erases all your worries and all you have got to do is to seize the moment while you are at it. You will always find the time to vacate your schedule just to enjoy for a while the thing that you wanted to do, even to sacrifice your scheduled activities.

It was like you are creating your new world where you get to escape from the reality and just relax for a few hours. You will also get to understand the beauty of your activity even in the slightest detail.

I find it different from my experience in the way that I do not need to exert too much effort in doing it, I just enjoy it until I feel satisfied and tired. And there is not much spending and upgrading for the equipment to use because it could only be purchased for a cheaper amount.

I have a meaningful yet challenging recreational activity when I started to engage in it, it was not recreational for me at first but through time I finally enjoyed it and learned to love doing it. It is Violin playing, considering the skills and practice needed to even learn how to sound it, it was really hard and frustrating. It started during my 2nd-year college of studying in the university, where our music teacher introduced to us the Violin, and to even start the drill we need to have prior learning or knowledge of the string instrument or other instruments, but sad to say I do not have any of it and so we were like starting from the scratch. We have been through numerous hardships until we were able to play our first song “If” by Bread, and it was indeed a very satisfying feeling. Until then, I was even more interested to learn more about Violin and making it my escape world, the world of music. Whenever I engage in it, I just feel fulfilled and satisfied, even happier when I finally finished a whole song. It was a different feeling from the time that I started learning it because when I started playing it, it was more of compliance where you would feel frustrations and disappointments. But when I was able to play it with minimal mistakes throughout the time, it was a victorious feeling, I finally defeated the feeling of inferiority.

I participated in the activity at first, because of peer pressure and its popularity of the activity. But throughout the time, I wholeheartedly embraced it and continued learning other songs that would uplift my confidence. I also adored some violinists that gracefully played difficult songs. I also saved videos of different tutorials that would improve my knowledge and skills in the field.

Every time I finished playing the violin, I always feel happy and fulfilled. I also feel accomplished when I finish practicing the book of songs.
